- Only 49 countries which have participated in Eurovision at least once can compete in the European Song Contest. You can find the list in our page Countries.
- Smaller countries can borrow songs from their neighbours. You can find those countries here.
- Only country which has won can host the next edition.
- If you decide to withdraw, your country has to go to the semi-final in the next edition (if there is a semi-final).
- If you take a country, you take it for an unlimited period. No one can take it before your withdrawal or disqualification.
- One person can use only one country.
- The contest can be started when at least 11 countries participate in it.
- If you take a country, you have to play with it at least 3 editions before switching it. The only exception: you can change your country immediately after your debut in the contest but later you will have to play with the same one 3 or more times.
Artists
- An artist must be related to the country that you want to represent (citizenship/nationality).
- If you send a duet, one of the singers must be from that country.
- You can send an entry which consists of a singer and a group even if the group is not from that country.
- An artist cannot represent two or more countries in the same edition.
- The same artist cannot represent country more than two times in a row.
- An artist cannot be younger than 16 years.
- An artist cannot participate and be the host of the edition.
- If an artist participates in the Eurovision national selection of different country, that country can register the singer only with that song and cannot use his/her other songs.
Songs
- Songs from the Eurovision Song Contest are not allowed. But you can send songs from your country's national selection.
- People cannot participate with the songs that are still participating in the Eurovision national selection and the winner is unknown yet.
- A song must be with a Youtube link.
- A song cannot be released before 2000.
- Covers, folk or instrumental songs are not allowed.
- Remix versions are not allowed unless that singer presents that version as the official of this song and prefers it to the first version.
- Songs cannot be longer than 4 minutes and 30 seconds and shorter than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
National finals
- You can organise national final but you have to tell this to the European Song Contest administrator.
- A national final must be held and finished before submissions' deadline.
Voting
- The voting is the same as the one in the Eurovision. You have to give 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 points.
- You cannot vote for your own country.
- If you do not vote on time, your country will be disqualified and your country will be set free.
- All countries must vote in the final.
- If there is only one semi-final, all countries must vote.
- If there are two semi-finals, semi-finalists have to vote only in their semi-final.
- If there are two semi-finals, each finalist gets a semi-final and vote for its participants.
- If the player does not vote, he is disqualified and has to skip the next edition.
Results
- Country which gets the most points wins this contest.
- There can not be a tie. Tiebreak is determined by two rules:
- If countries get the same number of points, the country which got points from more countries will be higher than others.
- If countries get the same number of points and the same number of countries have voted for them, then the country which got more 12 points will be higher.
Winner
- The winner can decide the host city, venue, photo for the logo, presenters and slogan.
